This Policy explains what cookies and local storage technologies MEZnet uses on meznet.com and its services, what they are used for and how you can manage them.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device when you visit them. They allow the site to keep your session active, remember preferences and improve the user experience. There are strictly necessary cookies (without which the service does not work) and optional cookies (analytics, advertising, etc.).

2. Cookies we use

We use only strictly necessary cookies. We do not use advertising, behavioural tracking or third-party analytics cookies.

3. localStorage and sessionStorage

In addition to cookies, we use browser local storage for:

• Storing your session token as an alternative to the cookie (same purpose).
• Saving temporary user interface preferences.
• Temporarily holding images being processed during your active session.

localStorage is not automatically sent to the server with each request (unlike cookies). Only MEZnet can access this storage from meznet.com.

4. Anonymous Fingerprinting

For non-registered users, we generate an anonymous identifier based on a hash of your IP address and basic browser features. This identifier is used solely to apply free-tier usage limits (global counter) and prevent abuse. It cannot identify you individually, is not linked to personal data and is discarded after 24 hours.

5. Third-party CDNs

Our frontend loads static resources (CSS, JavaScript) from third-party content delivery networks (CDNs):

• Tailwind CSS CDN — for interface styles.
• cdnjs (Cloudflare) — for JavaScript libraries (Cropper.js, etc.).

When loading these resources, your browser makes direct requests to Tailwind/Cloudflare servers, which may log your IP address under their own privacy policies. MEZnet does not share personal data with these providers.

6. Do Not Track (DNT)

We respect your browser's Do Not Track signal. Since we already only use strictly necessary cookies and no trackers, the site's behaviour does not change materially with DNT enabled.

7. Consent

The cookies we use are strictly necessary for the service to function (Art. 5.3 of the ePrivacy Directive and equivalent exemptions in other jurisdictions). For this reason, and in line with GDPR guidelines, we do not display a cookie consent banner for these cookies. If we add optional cookies in the future, we will implement a prior informed consent mechanism.

8. Managing cookies

You can manage and delete cookies from your browser settings:

• Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
• Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
• Edge — Settings → Privacy, search and services → Cookies.
• Safari — Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.

9. Changes to this Policy

We will notify you of any material changes by a prominent notice on the website and/or by email at least 15 days in advance.
